Didache Liturgy
O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
O God, cleanse me, a sinner, and have mercy on me.
Having created me, O Lord, have mercy on me.
Countless times I have sinned, O Lord, forgive me.
My Queen, most holy Theotokos, save me, a sinner,
Holy Guardian Angel, protect me from all evil.
Holy Father, Raphael, pray to God for me.
Blessed are you, Lord God, creator of day and night: to you be praise and glory for ever. As darkness falls you renew your promise to reveal among us the light of your presence. By the light of Christ, your living Word, dispel the darkness of our hearts that we may walk as children of light and sing your praise throughout the world.
V. Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
R. Blessed be God’s kingdom, now and ever and unto ages of ages.
O gladdening light,
of the holy glory of the immortal Father
heavenly, holy, blessed,
O Jesus Christ.
Now that we have come to the setting of the sun
and see the evening light
we give praise to God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Worthy are you at all times
to be worshipped with holy voices,
O Son of God and giver of life:
therefore all the world glorifies you.
Glory to you, our God, glory to you.
O heavenly King, Comforter, the Spirit of truth, everywhere present and filling all things; Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and abide in us and cleanse us from every impurity, and save our souls, O good one.
(From Easter to Pentecost, say rather “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!” 3x)
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal: have mercy on us. (3x)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
O, Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, pardon our transgressions. Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for your Name’s sake.
Lord, have mercy. (3x)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, in heaven, holy be your Name; your kingdom come; your will be done on earth, as in heaven. Give us this day the bread of Life; and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us; save us from the time of trial, and deliver us from evil.

R To You, O Lord.
Say here the collect of the day, then:
For the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, are yours: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Psalm 51 may be said here - or the psalm of the day - with an alleluia refrain after set verses:
Have mercy on me, O God, in your kindness; in your great tenderness, wipe out my sin. Over and over again, cleanse me of all malice; from my fault purify me.
For my sin is only too clear to me; my sin is ever before me. Against you, you alone, have I sinned; what is evil in your eyes, this I have done. You are just when you sentence, without reproach when you judge.
For in guilt itself was I born; a sinner my mother conceived. But you love truth at the heart of my being; teach me wisdom deep within me.
Purify me: I shall be cleaner than spring water; wash me: I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear the sound of joy and feasting; let them dance, these bones you have crushed.
Turn your face away from my sins; cleanse me of all malice. O God, create in me a pure heart, in my belly, a new and constant spirit.
Do not banish me from your presence; do not deprive me of your holy spirit. Give me back the joy of your help; insure within me a spirit of fervor, that I may teach sinners your ways, that the misguided may return to you.
Rescue me from death, O God, my saving God, and my tongue shall ring out your justice! Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
For you take no delight in sacrifice; were I to make a burnt offering, you would want no part of it. The best sacrifice, a broken spirit; a heart broken and crushed you have never disdained, O God.
In your kindness, be good to Sion: Rebuild Jerusalem within its walls! Then you will delight in just sacrifices — burnt offerings completely consumed! — then will they lay calves upon your altar!
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Glory to you, O God! 3x
The Cup:
Leader: We thank you, our Father, for the holy vine of David your servant, which you made known to us through Jesus your Servant
All: Glory to you for ever.
The cup is shared with everyone.
The Bread:
Leader: We thank you, our Father, for the life and knowledge which you made known to us through Jesus your Servant
All: Glory to you for ever.
Leader: Even as this broken bread was scattered over the hills, and was gathered together and became one, so let your Church be gathered together from the ends of the earth into your kingdom.
All: For yours is the glory and the power through Jesus Christ for ever.
The bread is shared round the table and Dinner is served. During dinner let there be discussion, Bible readings, singing, etc
After Dinner:
Leader: We thank you, holy Father, for your holy name which you have caused to tabernacle in our hearts, and for the knowledge and faith and immortality, which you made known to us through Jesus your Servant.
All: Glory to you for ever.
Leader: Master almighty, you created all things for you name’s sake; you gave food and drink to men for enjoyment, that they might give thanks to you; but to us you freely give spiritual food and drink and life eternal through your Servant. Before all things we thank you that you are mighty.
All: Glory to you for ever.
Leader: Remember, Lord, your Church, to deliver it from all evil and to make it perfect in your love, and gather it from the four winds, sanctified for your kingdom which you have prepared for it;
All: For yours is the power and the glory now and ever and unto ages of ages.
Hosanna to the Son of David!
If any one is holy, let him come; if any one is not so, let him repent.
Maranatha! Amen.
Wisdom is brilliant, she never fades.
By those who love her, she is easily seen,
by those who seek her, she is readily found.
She is a breath of God’s power
an image of God’s goodness
the eternal light and mirror of God’s glory.
Now let + Wisdom do all things, renew all things,
and pass into holy souls everywhere
to make them friends of God.
These verses from Psalm 34 - or the Psalm of the day or another suitable Psalm - may be sung with an alleluia refrain during any cleanup, or as a thanksgiving.
I will bless the Lord at all times; ever shall his praise be on my lips!
In the Lord shall my soul glory; let the lowly hear and be glad. Come extol the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; from all my fears he delivered me. Whoever looks to him will beam with joy; no longer will he hang his head in shame.
Here was a poor wretch who cried out to the Lord: The Lord heard him and rescued him from all his distress. The angel of the Lord is ever encamped with those who revere him, to rescue them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy is he who takes refuge in him.
Revere the Lord, all you, his holy ones; those who revere him want for nothing. The rich suffer want and go hungry, but those who revere the Lord never lack anything.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Glory to you, O God. (3x)
Glory to you, O Jesus Christ, Our God and Our Hope, Glory to you.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Most Holy Theotokos Save us!
More honourable than the Cherumbim and beyond compare more glorious than the seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Word. True Theotokos, we magnify you.
Lord, have mercy. (3x)
Lord, bless!
O Jesus Christ, Our God, through the prayers of our holy fathers and mothers have mercy upon us. Amen.
